A Saturn Fender Keeps the Dirt Away

A Saturn fender that part of the vehicle that encloses the wheel well. The word fender is a US terminology that carries the same meaning as “wing” for those who are more used to British automotive terms. A Saturn fender can also mean the mud guard that frames the wheel well. There are commonly four fenders in a vehicle, one for each wheel.

The work of a Saturn fender involves the protection of the wheel from the iniquitous reaches of grit, muck and other decidedly unpleasant foreign materials that may adhere to the tracks and insides of the wheel. A little gook, a bit of sludge, one would think that such things won't be able to do great harm to a tire and thus are basically inconsequential. Nothing that one should waste worry and sleep about.

Except, dirt can indeed undermine the condition of one's tires until they break down from wear. Eventually. Dirty tires not only look shabby, they wear out faster as well. How is this so? When dirt enters, adhering to every possible nook and cranny of the tires, there is always the possibility that the grit may find its way into the inside of the wheel.

This is where the trouble begins since the foreign particulate rubs and abrades the surface of the tire. Certainly, once or twice, one can count on the tire to take care of it. But consistent encounters of this sort will gradually undermine and weaken the defenses of the tire until it finally reaches a point where the dust can burrow into the material of the tire itself and bit by bit, ruin the condition of the tire.

One way to fight against this then is to employ the aid of a Saturn fender . With one in place, one can feel reasonably secure that the grit won't be making a mess of one's tires any time soon.
